Extended Disappearance

Postby ghostrager1990 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 3:41 pm

Hey Kinnies!!!

How are you all doing?? Hopefully everything in the kin is going well.

I have been busy dealing with real life matters (my new-born kids, wife and work), so havent found the time to log in to LOTRO or anything relaxing for that matter. I will be gone for a month to a month and a half longer till i can get my schedule free enough again.

So until then am kind of on a LOTRO sabbatical :(

Cya for now. Take Care!!!

Stanodora aka Stan aka Stano aka .... anything with a 'Stan' in it :P

Hi Stan,

I just noticed last night you had registered for the Kin forum, so I activated your profile to be able to post.

If you want to know what's going on with regard to the server move, we have not decided anything yet. When we do decide, we will post on this forum where to go to follow the kin and once you move your toons to our server you will be automatically added to the kin. As well, an in game mail message will be sent to all members informing them of the same thing.

Take care and we'll see you when you have the time to get back into the game.

Possible solution to your chat issue. I don't know what version of Windows you use but if you can find your userpreferences.ini file you can modify it. This solution worked for at least one person who was not able to use kinship or fellowship chat.

In Windows XP, you'll find the userpreferences.ini file in your C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online folder.

In Windows Vista, you'll find the userpreferences.ini file in your START>Documents>The Lord of the Rings Online folder.

Look for this section in the userpreferences.ini file:

[Net]
ConnectionSpeed=0.00
ComputeUniquePort=True
BindInterface=
UserSpecifiedPort=0

Change:UserSpecifiedPort=0 to UserSpecifiedPort=9000 or one port in the range of 9000-9005 so it looks like this:

[Net]
ConnectionSpeed=0.00
ComputeUniquePort=True
BindInterface=
UserSpecifiedPort=9000

Save changes.

Login and the LOTRO chat servers should be available.

you might also try updating the drivers on your Ethernet adapter.
